Only 7% of CISOs Own AI Governance, and That Might Be Fine
IANS Research found only 7% of CISOs at companies with $10 billion or more in revenue own AI governance, and I'm not sure that's the bad news it sounds like. On the AI approval committee I served on, security was essential, and I also saw what happens when it is the only lens. Every use case review turns into a threat model, and nobody asks whether the data was collected for this purpose or whether the use case is worth the risk. Security belongs at that table with real authority. The question I'd ask is what everyone else has instead. If the answer is a committee, find out who signs the risk acceptance when something goes wrong.
